It was with interest that I read the Renfrew County Sunshine list. It was especially interesting to read all the information about the Pembroke Regional Hospital and then hear all sorts of complaints about the care at the Pembroke Regional Hospital and especially the wait times in the Emergency Department. It would seem to me that there should be no salaries over $100,000.00 unless the hospital is running at a perfect level at all times. It might also be interesting to look at the LHIN salaries
I would suggest that everyone who makes over the $100,000.00 mark have their salaries lowered to that amount and the excess be used to improve the care given at the hospital. Of course that would mean hiring more staff, having the managers actually out on the wards supervising the staff and seeing that there is organized care on all units. That could also mean that food could be once again cooked in the building and then people could actually have a choice of food for a meal and not have to go hungry because there is nothing available that they are not allergic to. The hospital would only have $2,219,389.00 a year to do this with. Just think maybe there could be free parking and only 10 - 15 minute waits in emergency instead of the usual 6 - 10 hours.
