LAURENTIAN VALLEY - Police continue to investigate Monday's fatal motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 west of Pembroke.
Greydon Woollerton, 77, of Laurentian Valley, died during the mishap, the Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police said Tuesday.
The collision forced the closure of Highway 17 for seven hours while Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Collision experts conducted their investigation.
Police said Dylan Cameron, 23, of Pembroke, was proceeding eastbound in a 2000 Jeep Wrangler. Driving a 1987 Toyota Cressida, Mr. Woollerton was attempting to turn left onto Forest Lea Road when he was struck by the east bound vehicle. Mr. Cameron suffered only minor injuries. There were no passengers in either vehicle.
Laurentian Valley Fire Department and County of Renfrew Paramedic Services assisted at the scene. Police added it was raining at the time and the roads were wet.
Constable Chris Throop is the investigating officer. No charges will be laid.
