Pembroke Mayor Ed Jacyno was on hand at the Pembroke Public Library to hand out the diplomas for the Ready Set Go program.

Graduates from the program (from left) were Kyleen Chisholm-Dick, Elliot Lofsteadt, Alastair Campion and Devan Gauthier. In the back (from left) Karleigh Woollam, Mayor Jacyno, Emery Verch, Cameron Dunn and Rowan Stewart-Daly. The Ready to Go program was aimed at helping children prepare for a smooth transition emotionally, socially and intellectually from home to school. It was based on the idea that the librarian is a child’s first literacy coach.
