General Panet High School celebrated excellence in academics this week, praising those students who have reached the honour roll or received the Renfrew County medallion.
With family and friends in attendance, students and staff gathered in the high school gymnasium to mark the presentation of honour roll scrolls and Renfrew County Medallions of Academic Excellence to some well-deserving students.
“Excellence is a process,” said principal Bryan Baird. “To get to the point of excellence there are numerous trials and sometimes failures. It is the dedication and perseverance that allows a person to keep moving forward toward their goals that we are celebrating today.”
He told the audience that achieving honour roll status or receiving the Renfrew County medallion does not happen in a single act, but it is a continued pursuit of excellence.
“It is this level of personal dedication that prepares you for success in the future,” said Mr. Baird.
The certificates and medallions were presented by academic superintendent Debra Rantz, a former General Panet principal, and school council chair Cathy Lockley.
