Major drug bust in Pembroke
An 18-month undercover drug investigation has resulted in 240 drug and criminal charges against 31 individuals and the seizure of approximately $86,000 worth of drugs.
The investigation dubbed Project Norwich resulted in the execution of four Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrants at four Pembroke residences. In a joint effort between the Pembroke Police Service, Organized Crime Enforcement Unit and Ontario Provincial Police Drug Enforcement Unit, undercover offers converged on Pembroke and the surrounding area in an effort to combat street-level drug trafficking. Investigators purchased a variety of drugs including cannabis marijuana, cannabis resin (hashish), cocaine, methamphetamine (speed) as well as prescription medication.
Seized in the investigation was:
• 1,706 grams (3.8 pounds) of cannabis marijuana;
• 3,593 grams (7.9 pounds) of cannabis resin (hash);
• 490 methamphetamine (speed) tablets;
• 43 hydromorphone tablets;
• 12.5 grams of cocaine;
• 40 codeine tablets;
• 22 Lorazepam tablets;
• 677 oxycodone tablets;
• 169 morphine tablets;
• 15 Fentanyl patches;
• 2 replica handguns;
• More than $1,000 cash;
• Various drug trafficking paraphernalia.
The following individuals have been charges as a result of the investigation: A female young person (17) of Pembroke; Mandy Bredlaw, 27, of Pembroke; Kyle Brydges, 27, of Renfrew; Scott Butler, 41, of Pembroke; Angela Chaput, 29, of Pembroke; Glen Clouthier, 61, of Pembroke; Shantelle Coleman, 31, of Pembroke; Belinda Cook, 30, of Pembroke; Allan Foss, 60, of Pembroke; Andrew Frank, 29, of Renfrew; Lucille Graveline, 52, of Pembroke; James Harrington, 50, of Pembroke; Thomas Kehoe, 55, of Petawawa; Clint Labombard, 44, of Pembroke; Richard Laronde, 58, of Pembroke; Jason Laundrie, 39, of Pembroke; Dean Lauzon, 34, of Pembroke; Alicia Lemaire, 27, of Pembroke; Nicholas Liedtke, 24, of Pembroke; Chris McArton, 44, of Pembroke; Pauline Ouellette, 59, of Pembroke; Joey Patovirta, 19, of Pembroke; Catherine Pegg, 51, of Pembroke; Kyle Peplinkskie, 26, of Pembroke; George Polychronidis, 44, of Pembroke; Carl Ranger, 31, of Pembroke; Tammy Ranger, 51, of Pembroke; Aaron Sack, 21, of Pembroke; Peter Stewart, 66, of Pembroke; Edward Sweet, 51, of Renfrew; and a male young person of Renfrew.
While most of the accused were released on a Promise to Appear/Undertakings, some were held in custody for bail hearings.
Additional arrest warrants have also been issued for individuals still at large.
