Pembroke Symphony Orchestra Preparing for 'All Brahms' 0

The Pembroke Symphony Orchestra is hosting "All Brahms" with pianist Pierre-Richard Aubin at Festival Hall in Feb. 24 at 2 p.m..

Tickets cost $20 per adult and $10 per student. Family rates can be bought at $45. Children 12 and under are free, but must still have a ticket. Buy tickets early since seating is limited and reserved. (Family tickets includes up to a maximum of five people composed of parents, children and grandparents.)

Pierre-Richard Aubin's music career kicked off when he won first prize in piano at the Conservatory of Music of Quebec in Chicoutimi, where he studied with Suzanne Goyette. He later then attended the University of Montreal where he completed a Masters in Performance. After graduation, thanks to a grant from the Ministry of Culture and Communications, he received extensive advice from pianist Menahem Pressler during a stay in Bloomington, Indiana (USA). During his studies, Aubin has distinguished himself on several occasions, including as a scholarship recipient of the Federation of Graduate Studies at the University of Montreal, receiving the Medal of the Governor General of Canada, and winning the Canadian Music Competition.

Aubin performs regularly in concerts throughout the province and has preformed with a variety of other performers. Later on in life he began teaching. Aubin worked for several years for the winds and strings summer course at the Camp musical des Laurentides and the week of Vocal Arts music camp at the Camp musical du Saguenay–Lac-Saint-Jean.

He will be performing at Festival Hall on Sunday, Feb. 24 at 2 p.m. Selected seating will only be available until Friday, February 22, so seating can be chosen.

The Pembroke Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit organization that exists for the musical and cultural benefit of the community it serves. It performs live, symphonic music and strives to provide young and amateur musicians with the opportunity to perform in an orchestral environment.
