Shots Tap ‘n Grill and EGM Insurance battled each other at the Pembroke Memorial Centre during Sportsmen’s Hockey League action Jan. 10.

Shots battled back from behind to try and catch EGM, but were unable to before the end of regulation time, leading to a 5-4 win for EGM.

John Macdonald and Darryl McLaughlin led the scoring for EGM, with two goals and an assist each. Chris Jarvis scored a goal, while Chris Lorbetskie earned two assists.

Wally Robson scored twice for Shots, with Glen Getz scoring once and earning an assist, and Cory Lacombe rounding out the total with a goal.

Earning assists were Bill Poirier and Terry Teasdale.

In the second game of the evening, Finnigan’s defeated the Pembroke Merchants 4-1.

Dave Gareau and Dave Van Hoof each scored a pair of goals for Finnigan’s, while Jeff Gagne was credited with two assists.

Gary McRae scored the sole goal for the Merchants.

The evening wrapped up with an 8-2 trouncing of Summers Motors by Eastway Irvcon.

Robbie Dagenais and Dan Dube led the scoring with two goals and an assist each, Louis Soucie scored a goal and picked up two assists, Mike Brideau scored once and earned an assist, with Mike Yuke and Rob Levasseur each scoring a goal to round things out. Carlo Pleau was credited with two assists in the game.

For Summers Motors, Hec Clouthier and Dwayne Schultz each scored, while assists were awarded to Neil Lipke and Greg Sylvester.
