The mayor of Pembroke has praised two members of the Pembroke Public Library for upgrading their skills.

Mayor Ed Jacyno said during a recent council meeting he has received letters from the Southern Ontario Library Service recognizing two staff members of the library who successfully earned a Certificate in Public Library Leadership.

He said Margaret Mau, the library’s CEO, along with librarian Karthi Rajamani, both fulfilled the program’s demands while effectively managing their ongoing responsibilities.

Jacyno said over the two years of the program, Mau completed 12 courses, an exam, and a local library project which was of significant benefit to the Pembroke Public Library.

Jacyno also congratulated Karthi Rajamani, who likewise earned a Certificate in Public Library Leadership. He said she is to be commended for meeting the demands of the program admirably, on top of fulfilling challenging responsibilities in her work. Jacyno said Rajamani did so in a way that has accelerated her own learning and leadership development.

He stated that he was happy to recognize these two ladies and wished to congratulate them.
