Petawawa man dead after Lake Street crash

Ernest Hall, a 57-year-old Petawawa man has died as a result of injuries sustained from the motor vehicle collision that occurred on Lake Street in Pembroke Sunday, police have confirmed.

The Upper Ottawa Valley detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing to investigate the collision which involved three people struck by a westbound vehicle just after 9 a.m. Sunday.

Two of the pedestrians struck were released form the hospital, police confirmed in a statement yesterday. Hall remained in the hospital, with serious injuries. Later, he succumbed to his injuries as a result of the crash.

Martial Laverdue, a 38-year-old Pembroke man has been charged with one count of dangerous operation of motor vehicle causing bodily harm.
