April is Daffodil Month

Article content

Canadian Cancer Society Chatham-Kent unit manager Cindy Vinall pins a daffodil onto Deputy Chief of Police Gary Conn on April 1. April is Daffodil Month and volunteers will be out distributing pins at about 30 locations in Chatham alone from April 3-6 and April 11-12. More than 300 Chatham-Kent businesses have also agreed to host daffodil coin boxes. Door-to-door canvassing will also take place. Last year about 17,000 pins were distributed. The event helps both with awareness and fundraising. Conn said the police service is proud to support the Cancer Society and they are looking to enter a team into the Relay For Life event in June.
