Campaign offers comfort and joySalvation Army Kettle Campaign underway

The annual Salvation Army Christmas Kettle Campaign is underway in Saugeen Shores with kettles at four locations including Giant Tiger, Rowland’s Your Independent Grocer and Walmart in Port Elgin. In Southampton, the Christmas kettle is at Foodland.

Now in its 128th year, the annual fundraiser accepts donations to help The Salvation Army assist the one-in-seven Canadians who lives in poverty and struggle to eat.

Last year, The Salvation Army helped over 1.7 million people, including providing 3.2 million free meals, 7,300 emergency beds each night, and assisting 269,000 with Christmas food hampers and toys. The campaign wraps up on Christmas Eve.
