A nine-year-old girl discovered riding a TTC bus alone downtown early Tuesday morning is safe at home.

“It was a miscommunication,” said Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook.

Police were called to Yonge and Adelaide Sts. at about 3:30 a.m. where the girl was travelling by herself.

A passenger had noticed the girl who had been on the bus for a while and notified the driver .

The girl provided police with her name and her father was located and interviewed.

“He is a single father, new to the country. They got separated and he was looking for her all night,” Douglas-Cook said.

“There will be no charges.”

The girl had been under the care of the Children’s Aid Society and they returned her to the father.
