Courteney Cox on cosmetic procedures: I've done things I regret

Actress Courteney Cox has learned to "just let it be" when it comes to beauty and aging in Hollywood.

The former Friends star, 52, admits she used to fuss over her looks earlier on in her career as she tried to maintain a more youthful appearance, but testing out various beauty procedures didn't always produce the best results for her.

"I think there's a pressure to maintain (your looks), not just because of fame, but just, you know, being a woman in this business," she bemoaned during an appearance on survival show Running Wild With Bear Grylls, which aired in the U.S. on Monday night.

"Getting older has not been... I don't think it's the easiest thing. But I have learned lessons," explained the actress, who is engaged to rocker Johnny McDaid. "You know, I think I was trying to keep up with getting older... (but) it's something you can't keep up with."

Courteney's beauty trials and tribulations have prompted her to adopt a more relaxed attitude to her beauty regime, especially after some regretful treatments in the past.

"The more you relax into it and the less I try... (the better I look)," she said, "'cause sometimes you find yourself trying and then you look at a picture of yourself and go, 'Oh, God.' Like, you look horrible.

"I have done things that I regret, and luckily they're things that dissolve and go away. So, um, that's good, because it's not always been

my best look. So, now I just have a new motto: 'Just let it be.'"
