‘Twin Peaks’ and ‘Kill Bill’ actor Michael Parks dies at 77

Actor Michael Parks has died at the age of 77.

The TV and film star passed away on Wednesday.

Parks landed his first role in the Zane Grey Theater TV series in 1960 and went on to star in several shows, including Twin Peaks, Walker, Texas Ranger, The Colbys, Then Came Bronson, and Perry Mason.

He was also featured in films including Kill Bill: Vol. 1, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, Django Unchained, Argo, and From Dusk Till Dawn.

In addition to his film and TV career, he released several albums, including Closing The Gap, You Don’t Know Me, and The Red State Sessions.

Paying tribute to the late actor, filmmaker Kevin Smith, who worked with Parks on Tusk and Red State, took to Instagram and wrote: “I hate to report that my cinematic muse #michaelparks has passed away.

“Michael was, and will likely forever remain, the best actor I’ve ever known. I wrote both #RedState and @tuskthemovie FOR Parks, I loved his acting so much. He was, hands-down, the most incredible thespian I ever had the pleasure to watch perform. And Parks brought out the absolute best in me every time he got near my set...”

“I was so f---ing blessed to have worked with this bonafide (sic) genius,” he continues. “But really, I was just lucky to have known him at all. My heart goes out to James (Michael’s son), Oriana (Michael’s wife), Quentin Tarantino (Michael’s biggest fan) and any movie or music lover who was ever dazzled by the talents of Michael Parks. Farewell, old friend. I’ll see you farther along...”

From Dusk Till Dawn director Robert Rodriguez adds, “A heartfelt farewell to the one and only Michael Parks. A very kind man and a true legend.”
