John Boyega confirmed that Prince William and Prince Harry were given lines for their cameo roles as stormtroopers.

The British actor, who plays Finn in the Star Wars franchise, confessed that he could no longer keep the secret that the royals filmed cameo roles for Star Wars: The Last Jedi.

However, he revealed in an interview with BBC Radio 4 on Friday that he didn’t think their scene made the final cut.

“I think they took that scene out,” he speculated.

“I’ve had enough with those secrets,” he confessed.

“They came on set. They were there. I’m sick of hiding it. I think it was leaked, anyway.

“There were images. Every time I get asked, I have to dodge it. I’m tired of dodging it. They were there. So was Tom Hardy.”

The not-so-top-secret filming happened last spring when the princes were on the set at Pinewood Studios.

According to editors at the Mail Online, the down-to-earth princes chatted to crew members and Chewbacca actor, Joonas Suotamo, and fooled around with lightsabers.

A source at the time told the Mail Online the princes “filmed a scene in which Rey and Finn infiltrate a secret base.”

The source added, “The rebel characters are in a lift with Benicio del Toro’s character when a group of stormtroopers enter - two of whom are William and Harry,” but the information was never confirmed by film officials.

Earlier this year, Gary Barlow revealed he too was given a cameo in the forthcoming movie, which will be released in December.

It’s not the first time the franchise has seen cameo appearances - James Bond star Daniel Craig appeared in The Force Awakens, in which he was listed as Stormtrooper JB-007, a nod to his famous secret agent credentials.
