Downtown street closed Tuesday

By Pembroke Daily Observer

Pembroke's main street will be closed Tuesday as contractors finish paving it.

However, all businesses will remain open and ready to serve their customers.

In a press release issued by the city, Pembroke Street West between Victoria Street and Frank Nighbor Drive will be closed due to asphalt paving.

Effective Tuesday, September 26th, 2017, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Asphalt Paving will be completed on Pembroke Street West between Victoria Street and Frank Nighbor Drive. Residents are to avoid the downtown core, if at all possible. Detours will be posted. On-street parking in this area will be closed.

Shoppers are encouraged to access businesses by using sidewalks. All businesses will be open and operational during this time.

The city asked that drivers avoid affected areas if at all possible and exercise patience for contractors working to renew our City infrastructure.
