Female suspect sought in break and enters at apartment building. POLICE HANDOUT

The Ottawa police break and enter unit is looking for a woman in scrubs who’s accused of entering unlocked apartments in a south-end building earlier this month.

This was no health-care worker making a house call.

In one case she’s alleged to have made off with a quantity of cash. In two others, she fled after being confronted by the occupant, saying she had the wrong apartment.

Police say it was late in the afternoon of Sept. 12 when a number of apartments in the Rivergate Way building, near the intersection of Hunt Club and Riverside drives, were entered by the female suspect.

She is described as Caucasian, 25 to 35 years old, with a slim to average build and dark hair.

And she was wearing nursing-style dark scrubs.

Investigators say they’re also reviewing similar cases citywide in 2016 and 2017.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the break and enter unit at 613-236-1222, ext. 3515. Anonymous tips can be made to Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-222-8477 or by downloading the Ottawa police app.
