OTTAWA – The Pembroke Lumber Kings soundly dispatched the Navan Grads 4-1 Friday night on the road.

Centre Matthew Barnaby continued putting the team on his back quarterbacking the victory at the Richcraft Sensplex with a goal and an assist. Owen Arfstrom also scored his first goal of the season and contributed an assist.

Pembroke's penalty kill clicked allowing one goal on six attempts. The Kings, however, could not add to their total on six opportunities with the extra attacker. Goalie Jake Smith got the win making 32 saves on 33 shots. Navan netminder Seth Carter made 40 saves on 44 shots on goal.

Jacob Kamps opened the scoring four minutes into the first period, grabbing his sixth goal of the season, assisted by Barnaby and Brendan Browne. In the second period, Barnaby put away his team-leading 12th goal of the season, assisted by Jarrad Vroman.

In the third period, Connor Warnholtz built on Pembroke's lead with his fifth goal of the year, aided by Peter Falivena and Arfstrom. Navan finally got on the board at the 9:30 mark with a power play goal by Michael Locatelli, who was assisted by Simon Besner and Wil Murray. Arfstrom stemmed any resurgence knocking a late goal into the Navan net, assisted by Warnholtz.

Three Star Selection: Matthew Barnaby, Pembroke (Star #1), Connor Warnholtz, Pembroke (Star #2), Michael Locatelli, Navan (Star #3).
