Whitewater Kings grab wins over Arnprior, Hawks

After suffering a disappointing shutout loss, the Whitewater Kings bounced back Sunday to edge out the Winchester Hawks 5-4.
Dylan Kuehl led in scoring with one goal and two assists as the Kings faced the Hawks on the road in Winchester. Quinn Vanhoof, Peter White, Jonathan Ready and Conrad Cybulski also contributed goals as goalie Kevin Proulx made 26 saves on 30 shots. Scoring for the Hawks were Joey Driscoll, Fred Lemay, Anthony Urbisci and Hunter Randall.
The night before at the Cobden Astrolabe Arena, the Kings were blanked by the Westport Rideaus 7-0. Westport recorded two powerplay goals against Whitewater, while Proulx made 24 saves on 31 shots. Scoring for Westport were Dane Williams, who had two goals, Hughie McHugh, Ty Nicholson, Brock Boisclair, Skylar Choffe and James Prebble.
It's been a busy schedule for the Kings. On Jan. 31, Whitewater defeated the Brockville Tikis 6-4 with Proulx turning away 24 shots. White led the offence with the natural hat trick, while Kuehl contributed two goals. Jared Campitelli added a powerplay goal. Zachary Matyasik, Hunter Shipclark, Owen Webster and William MacDonald scored for Brockville. On Jan. 29, the Kings fell to the Renfrew Timberwolves 5-2. Chad Moore and White scored for the Kings. Connor Noonan and Bailey Hein scored twice for Renfrew, while Russell Denney grabbed a single. Proulx made 27 saves on 32 shots.
On Jan. 27, the Kings beat the Tikis 3-1 with all the scoring coming in the first period. Jacob McIntyre grabbed a goal and an assist, while Vanhoof and White also scored. Nathan Bisson recorded the lone Brockville goal. Proulx made eight saves on nine shots. On Jan. 26, Whitewater defeated the Arnprior Packers 7-4. Vanhoof, White and McIntyre chipped in two goals each, while Nicholas Olmstead added a single. Payton Jardine, who had two goals, Chad Cherry and Danny Johnson scored for the Packers. Proulx made 29 saves on 33 shots.
On Jan. 25, the Kings edged out the Embrun Panthers 4-3 with goals from Michael Karas, Kuehl, Vanhoof and McIntyre. Embrun received scoring from Justin Gagnon, Joey Larcher and Jeremy Barrie. Proulx made 24 saves on 31 shots. On Jan. 23, the Ottawa Canadians downed the Kings 5-3. Brady Egan scored a powerplay goal for the Kings, while Vanhoof and Kuehl also scored. Leading for the Canadians was Devin Saumur, with a hat trick, while singles came from Nolan Marshall and Justin Turner. Proulx made 23 saves on 27 shots.
