Connecting to Care Radiothon on the air and at the Pembroke Mall today
On Jan. 18, corporate sponsors of the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation's 'Connecting to Care Radiothon' gathered at the Pembroke Mall for the fundraiser's publicity launch. The Radiothon will be taking place on March 1 at the Pembroke Mall and on 104.9 MyFM, with the aim of raising funds for the Cutting Edge Campaign. With your help today, phones will be ringing off the hooks at the Pembroke Mall where the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation is holding its first-ever Connecting to Care Radiothon (brought to you by myFM, Pembroke Mall, NRTC Communications, Butler GM, Assante Financial, Frank Carroll Financial , EGM Insurance and Pembroke Mitsubishi).
Hosted by Ottawa Valley’s beloved MC Art Jamieson and radio station 104.9 myFM, the radiothon gives listeners and mallgoers an opportunity to get to know their hospital.
During the radiothon, listeners can tune in to hear heart-warming stories from PRH staff, physicians, former patients and donors.
Throughout the day at the Pembroke Mall, attendees of all ages can enjoy live entertainment while little ones are invited to have their cuddly friends checked out at a Teddy Bear Clinic.
PRH staff and physicians are on hand to meet the public and interactive displays are showcasing a variety of programs and services available at Pembroke Regional Hospital. These include diabetes prevention (on-site glucose testing), stroke prevention (on-site blood pressure tests), mental health services, the Geriatric Day Hospital, infection prevention (handwashing techniques), volunteer services, human resources, the PRH Auxiliary and more.
So today, call in and support your hospital with a pledge or drop by the mall with a donation and you may hear your name announced on the air!
As our community joins together, pledges and donations to the Connecting to Care Radiothon will help bring us closer to the $2.5 million Cutting Edge Campaign goal to fund orthopaedic equipment and the revamping of the hospital’s 1950’s-era surgical in-patient rooms.
Donations towards the Cutting Edge Campaign are welcome at any time and can be made by contacting the Foundation Office at 613-732-2811 extension 7408 or at www.prhfoundation.com. The Connecting to Care Radiothon takes place today at the Pembroke Mall and over 104.9 myFM from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
