Pembroke's Fellowes Falcons fall just short to Ottawa's Woodroffe High School in OFSAA AA boys' basketball consolation final

After staging a valiant effort in coming back to battle through the consolation bracket at the Ontario Federation of Schools Athletic Association’s boys’ AA basketball tournament, the Fellowes Falcons fell just short in the consolation championship game.

Matched up against Woodroffe High School from Ottawa, the Falcons, who hosted the tournament here in Pembroke,  were defeated by a final score of 90-55.

Woodroffe outscored Fellowes in every quarter, and then dominated in the fourth, shutting the Falcons right down, outscoring them 19-8 in the final frame.

The leading scorer for Fellowes was Logan Mahoney with 27 points while the leading scorer for Woodroffe was Mohamed D Omar with 34 points.

To close out the 2018 OFSAA boys’ AA basketball tournament here in Pembroke, it was Lasalle Secondary School downing St. Theresa Catholic Secondary School 66-44 to claim the bronze medal and taking home the overall provincial championship and the gold medal was Mother Teresa Catholic Secondary School  from London who won in a thriller over St. Francis Catholic Secondary School of St. Catherine’s 54 – 52.
