Man rescued from frigid water near Petawawa Catwalk
A 36-year-old man was rescued after falling into the freezing water at Petawawa Centennial Park the morning of March 12. The emergency was called in at 10:54 a.m. by a local resident who caught sight of the man flailing in the frigid water. A few minutes later, water rescue crews form both the Town of Petawawa and Garrison Petawawa arrived on scene with County of Renfrew paramedics. The man was located by the Petawawa Catwalk, swiftly extracted from the water and treated for hypothermia by paramedics before being dispatched the Pembroke Regional Hospital.
