The Pembroke Lumber Kings are already getting ready for the 2018-19 season with a special promotion to attract more season ticket holders. The Lumber Kings have high expectations for next season with several key players returning and are offering incentives to the fans to renew their season ticket package early.

The Kings will launch their season ticket campaign during the month of May. The club will have ticket packages on sale the week of May 21- 25 at the Pembroke Mall where it will be set up from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily and again at the Downtown Connect Trade Show on May 11 (4 p.m. to 8 p.m.) and May 12 (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.) at the Pembroke Memorial Centre.

“We are very excited about our line-up for next season. Players like Matthew Barnaby, Malcolm Arseneau, Connor Warnholtz and Brendan Browne should produce a strong offensive nucleus while goaltender Jake Smith was one of the best goaltenders in the league down the stretch and in the playoffs,” said Kings's head coach and team owner Dale McTavish. “We have a lot to build on and we are getting started early on our ticket sales because we want to generate some hype around what we know will be a great season.”

The Lumber Kings were knocked out of the Central Canada Hockey League playoffs this past season by the eventual league champion, Ottawa Junior Senators. The Kings took the Senators to six games, further than any other team Ottawa faced in the playoffs. On Sunday, Ottawa won the Fred Page Cup and will now represent Eastern Canada at the RBC Cup national Jr. A hockey championship in Chilliwack, B.C.

Season ticket holders can purchase tickets at a significantly reduced cost and will also be eligible for special prizes if they commit to next season during the current push for season ticket sales.

“We’ve put together some great prize packs and the chance for our fans to win a free season ticket package, if they purchase early,” said Keith Roach, Kings's community relations co-ordinator/assistant coach.

Next season's season ticket packages will include 29 generic tickets that can be used at any game during the regular season. Season ticket holders can also purchase playoff tickets at preferred pricing when they become available.

“We have had a very loyal fan base for many years, but we realize we need to reach out to our community to attract new fans while also enhancing our relationship with our current season ticket holders. Junior hockey provides great entertainment and we are looking forward to playing in front of great crowds next season,” added Roach.

The Lumber Kings office will be closed in June and July and re-open in August. The Kings expect to release the 2018-19 schedule within a few weeks. It will include several Sunday evening games, as well as some Friday nights and Sunday matinees.

The Pembroke Lumber Kings are founding members of the Central Canada Hockey league and have more championships than any other team. Its 14 titles include a record-setting five consecutive championships between 2007 and 2011, which remains a league record.
