Dr. Wilbert Keon graduates ready to follow the future

CHAPEAU, QUE. - The 2009 graduates of Dr. Wilbert Keon School must follow their dreams as they choose their future path.

They have come to a crossroads, according to class valedictorian Chelsey Schryer who addressed her fellow graduates, teachers, family and friends during Saturday's ceremony at the Chapeau arena.

"It doesn't matter what path you choose, always be true to yourself," she said. "If you follow your heart and follow your dreams and are not afraid to overcome obstacles, you will succeed."

The graduating class has come a long way since they entered high school and have shared many experiences together that will live in their memories forever. Ms. Schryer thanked the parents, teachers and school principal Neil Fleming for being a part of the journey, offering support and encouragement along the way to ensure their success.

"You have helped shape the people that we are today," she said. "I would like to also thank my classmates. Together we have overcome obstacles and we've caught each other when we were about to fall. We have become such great friends and thanks to you I'll never forget my years and friends at DWKS."

In closing, Ms. Schryer addressed her fellow classmates.

"We've left our footprints in the heart of this school and now it's time to walk out those doors and create new memories from amazing adventures to come and our time at DWKS becomes a memory" she said.

During the ceremony the following awards were handed out.
