Lumber Kings beat Colts

Dustin Fummerton scored with less than four minutes to go in the game to give the Pembroke Lumber Kings a 3-2 victory over Cornwall in Central Junior Hockey League action last night.
Kyle Just assisted on the goal.
The victory was the second in two nights on the road for the Lumber Kings. On Wednesday night the Kings beat Gloucester 6-2.
The game was tight from the opening faceoff as the score remained 0-0 until the 16minute mark of the first period when Damian Cross scored from Tyler Tosunian and Ben Reinhardt to put Pembroke ahead by a goal.
Jacob Laliberte evened the score for the Colts at 6:56 of the second period.
Cross scored his second goal of the game at 13:51 of the second period on the power play to put Pembroke up 2-1.
With only five seconds remaining in the second period, Eric Ming scored for Cornwall to even the count.
The Lumber Kings outshot Cornwall 29-26 in the game and held a 22-14 advantage after the first two periods.
There were only seven penalties called in the game with Cornwall taking four and Pembroke three.
Scott Zacharias got the victory in goal for the Lumber Kings while Doug Carr took the loss for Cornwall.
Cross was the first star of the game, Reinhardt was the second and Ming was the third.
The Lumber Kings will see action again on Sunday night at the Pembroke Memorial Centre when they face the Hawkesbury Hawks. Game time is 7 p. m.
