The third weekend of Silver Stick tournament action is underway in the city with the Frank Nighbor Bantam Weekend.

Pembroke got its quest for the Silver Stick going on the right skate with a 4-0 win over Cornwall.

Despite the score, the teams played two fairly even periods to a scoreless draw.

Both Pembroke and Cornwall had decent scoring chances but neither could capitalize.

With two seconds left in the first period, Travis Chaput of the Kings managed to beat Colts' goaltender Brett Warner but his shot was stopped by the iron of the post.

Just two minutes into the third period, the Kings got on the board when Chaput snapped a shot into the twine from the slot. The goal seemed to energize the Kings.

Chaput got his second of the game just over two minutes later, slipping the puck mere inches over the goal line following a prolonged goal-mouth scramble. Justin Gribbon and Connor Zieman both got assists.

At the 6:29 mark, Connor Shaw added to the Kings' lead on the power play, taking a nice pass from Jacob White who was parked at the side boards, and deflecting it backhanded past Warner. Wil Summers also got an assist on the goal.

The final nail in the Colts' coffin was hammered by Adam Gale who slapped the puck through Warner's five hole.

Kings' goalie Troy Gauthier got the shutout.

The Petawawa Patriots did not get the start to the weekend that they were hoping for, falling to the Cumberland Jr. Grads 4-3.

Having played through a scoreless first period, the Patriots got on the board first in the second off a shot by Brayden Neville. Tanner Bourque got the assist.

The lead was short lived however, as just over a minute later Mat Saumure drew Cumberland even.

Paul Massad gave the Grads a 2-1 lead going into the final frame.

The Patriots drew even with just over five minutes left in the game when Cody Durocher scored, taking a pass from Gregory Lehoux.

A mere 14 seconds later, the Patriots found themselves in the lead as Neville got his second goal of the game. Andrew Vaillancourt got the assist.

The lead was short lived, however, as a minute and a half later, Jay Hunt again evened the score.

At the 1:49 mark, Pascal Bourgon scored for the Grads, giving his team the win.

The Pontiac Lions lost 4-2 to Perth/Lanark.

Michel Boivert and Bradley Pearson scored for the Lions. Andrew Cahill had two assists for Pontiac and Patrice Gagnon had one.

Valley Storm lost to Tweed 4-1.

Brandon Prince scored the lone goal for the Storm while Korey Hubers picked up the assist.

The Muskrat Voyageurs blanked Lakefield 3-0.

Riley Hennessy scored two goals for the Voyageurs. His first goal was assisted by Ryley Campbell and Brett Regier and the second was assisted by Jordan Robinson.

Branden Yakabuskie scored the other Muskrat goal, unassisted.
