The Kings have re-acquired the rights to 19 year old Jonathan Milley from the Smiths Falls Bears and subsequently signed the 6'4" 215 pound power forward for the upcoming season.

According to Pembroke Lumber Kings General Manager Sheldon Keefe, Milley represented Team Canada East at the 2009 World Junior A Challenge and also played for the CJHL All- Stars in the Battle of Ontario. He was acquired on loan from Smiths Falls at the 2010 trade deadline.

Despite missing almost three months to injury, he joined the Kings in time for their historic run to a fourth consecutive league championship where he scored seven goals and added eight assists in 12 playoff games.

At the conclusion of the 2010 Fred Page Cup his rights reverted back to Smiths Falls but with this recent deal he will return to the red and white when the Kings hit the ice for the opening of training camp on Aug. 20.

"I am excited to be back and hope to have my most productive season in the CHL," Milley said. "Being a member of the Pembroke Lumber Kings is an honour and I can't wait to get back on the ice at the PMC."

Milley, who had many options and could have played for any Junior A team in the country, chose Pembroke as it is best suited for his development and rsuit of an NCAA scholarship.

Smiths Falls received a package including a player development fee and five draft picks while two fifth round picks from the Bears come with Milley to Pembroke.

For Keefe, this deal was a priority as he assembles what he hopes is a team that can challenge for their fifth consecutive league championship.

"Jonathan is the most physically dominant player in our league and showed in the playoffs that he is an invaluable piece of the puzzle," Keefe explained. "His presence changes the whole perception of our team and with the talent we have along with the structure and discipline around him, he is sure to have a great season while continuing to be a great team mate and leader."
