Hehr resigns from Liberal cabinet over remarks

OTTAWA — Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has accepted Kent Hehr’s resignation from the federal cabinet pending an investigation into an allegation that the sport and disabilities minister made inappropriate sexual remarks while a provincial politician.

A group of First Nations chiefs has spoken out against the Algonquin Land Claim agreement in principle stating its criteria for eligibility to vote on the matter is so loose that even Prime Minister Trudeau would qualify to vote on it as an Algonquin.

Algonquin land claim deal illegal, fraudulent – chiefs

A historic land claim agreement in principle struck by the Algonquins of Ontario with the federal and provincial governments is being denounced as fraudulent and illegal by chiefs of a number of Iroquois and Algonquin First Nations.
