While taking pictures at the railway crossing on Achrey Road Engine 9020 comes to a stop. My daughter and I are asked if we would like to go for a ride. Of course who would pass that up. While sitting with conductor Bob, we hear his story how he and his brother Mike worked for the railroad. Now retired and working under contract they are loading empty box cars with the rail they are tearing up. Starting next week they will be tearing up the rail bed from Pembroke towards Mattawa! Boy how we are gonna miss that beautiful sound of a train whistle.
