Taxi Drivers Help Passengers Survive the Cold

Jenny de Boer

By Jenny de Boer

On the morning of Monday February 16th at 4:30am I called a taxi to take me to the Greyhound bus stop in Pembroke. I arrived 30 minutes early. Upon arrival the driver said that I was welcome to stay in the car until he received another call. Even though I was dressed in layers I accepted. Another taxi from another taxi company drove up and did the same with his passenger. The second driver got a call and his passenger was offered to stay with us. Bottom line we played taxi tag and were able to keep warm. Both of us would have suffered frost bite for sure as the Greyhound bus was 56 minutes late. I give these drives credit and I thank them very much for helping us on one of our coldest days. Thank you both!! Jenny
