Rushnell Funeral Homes Inc. is proud to launch its inaugural Best Ball Tournament on Friday, June 21st, at Trillium Wood Golf Course. One hundred per cent of the proceeds go toward the Humane Society Hastings and Prince Edward (HSHPE). As a three generation, locally owned business since 1961, the Rushnell family and funeral homes have supported many community events and are looking forward to making this an annual tournament.

“We are so excited to say that this tournament is 90% sold out and have received so much positive response for this event. Our family loves animals, so it was easy to choose the Humane Society as the beneficiary of this tournament.” said Ashley Rushnell, Funeral Director and Event Chair.

Monies raised from the tournament will help HSHPE offset rising expenses brought about by increases in surrendered and abandoned animals, and rising costs for food, shelter supplies, medicine and veterinary care.

“This inaugural Rushnell Charity Golf Tournament is a testament to the Rushnell family’s devotion to the communities they serve and to their personal passion for animals. We cannot thank the family enough for their compassion and we look forward to a fun and prosperous day on the golf course,” said Greg Sudds, chair of HSHPE’s Board of Directors.

At the moment, the tournament is looking for a few more hole sponsors at $250/ hole and some door prizes to make this an even bigger success.

“We extend special thanks to all the participating golfers and to our amazing sponsor,” added Rushnell. PLATINUM: Rushnell Funeral Homes Inc. GOLD: McDougall Insurance, SILVER: Belmont Long Term Care, SILVER: Arabella Retirement Living, CREATIVE SPONSOR: They and the ULTIMATE HOLE IN ONE SPONSOR: West City Honda.
